truth of software.

Yes, Yani. You´re absolutely right.  Unfortunate to ALL softwares... The "Glory Day" in my last post is just a "summer night dream".

It's different for software where the motive isn't commercial. Plenty of open source project are labelled 0.x for years as they mature because it doesn't matter commercial and therefore all you are left with is realism. It's up to users of commercial application to cut through the marketing spin and put the realism back. The problem is you can only do that with a complex program like CGS in retrospect.

What you know with a commercial produce is that it has to ship on the due date. It's a manufactured product which is booked in with printers, CD pressers, package assemblies to ship on XX of YY. A failure to ship means missing the que on print runs, storing excessive stock, having no previous or new product on the shelf etc.

If Corel released an RC and then did fixes it would look just like it does now only with a different label. Corel most likely couldn't afford to do that as it would not produce revenue and give the pirates a head start. Until something radical changes we users just need to add our own realism.

Judging by the release date of X5 / February 23, 2010, we can expect X6 to be available between End of Feb and Early Mar.

Let's hope that X6 be more stable, more versatile, more bug free, easy to work, more features added as many of us have contributed to Wish list for X6 .

For the record, while we announced X5 at the end of February 2010, we actually only started shipping the product Mid March 2010.

That's good news. It's good to release when ready rather than worry about making a deadline.
